KARACHI: Expressing his regret over the May 9 mayhem, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sindh President Ali Zaidi announced on Saturday quitting Imran Khan-led PTI and politics, ARY News reported on Saturday. Temperature may rise to 44-50°C in Sindh

KARACHI: Sindh Health Department on Friday issued a warning for a possible heat wave in the province with the temperature likely to range between 44 and 50 degrees Celsius, ARY News reported. In a statement, the Sindh Health Department issued a warning for a possible heat wave during the month of June and outlined an action plan to make sure authorities are prepared. The department noted that temperatures across the world were continuously increasing due to climate change and Pakistan will also face the brunt of these temperatures. The statement pointed out that the heatwave in 2015 had taken 700 lives, so preparations would have to be made in advance. “The heat wave is expected to impact both urban and rural parts of Sindh with temperatures expected to stay between 44 and 46 degrees Celsius. ISTANBUL: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday that Gulf states recently sent funding to Turkiye, briefly helping relieve the central bank and markets, and he intends to meet and thank their leaders after Sunday’s runoff presidential election. “Our economy, banking and financial system are quite strong. Meanwhile, some Gulf states and such stocked money in our system. This is recent and this relieved our central bank and market, even if for a short while,” Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in an interview with CNN Turk. “After Sunday’s election, you will see how these leaders will come here and how I will visit them to show gratitude,” he added. CTD arrests two ‘criminals’ from Karachi

KARACHI: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) apprehended two suspected criminals in a successful operation in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar area, ARY News reported on Friday. According to the CTD spokesperson, the suspects, identified as Bilal and Abid Zaman, have been accused of murder, attempted murder, and various street crimes. OGRA notifies increase in LNG prices

ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Thursday notified an increase of $0.17 per MMBTU in prices for Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) for May, ARY News reported. OGRA has increased the LNG price for Sui Northern System by $0.16 while the price for the Sui Southern System has been increased by $0.17 for May. According to the OGRA notification, the new LNG price for SNGPL has been set at $13.39 per unit while the prices for SSGC has been set at $13.65 per MMBTU. Earlier, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) notified a reduction in prices of liquefied natural gas (LNG) for consumers of two public gas utilities including Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC).
