Missing Titan submersible passengers believed to be dead: OceanGate

The five people aboard the Missing Titan submersible are thought to be dead, according to OceanGate, the company that owns the vessel, bringing a grim end on Thursday to the massive search for the vessel that was lost during a voyage to the Titanic. “These men were true explorers who shared a distinct spirit of adventure, and a deep passion for exploring and protecting the world’s oceans,” OceanGate Expeditions said in a statement. “Our hearts are with these five souls and every member of their families during this tragic time.” The statement from OceanGate came just minutes after CNN said that debris found on the ocean floor on Thursday near the wreck of the Titanic was assessed to be from the submersible, citing an internal U.S. Coast Guard document. PM Shehbaz in Paris to attend New Global Financing Pact Summit

PARIS: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday arrived in Paris on an official visit to attend the New Global Financing Pact Summit, at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron, ARY News reported. As the prime minister landed at the Paris airport along with his delegation, he was warmly received by Pakistan’s ambassador in France and diplomatic officials besides senior French government authorities. Federal ministers Sherry Rehman, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Marriyum Aurangzeb and Special Assistant to PM Tariq Fatemi are part of the prime minister’s entourage. LAHORE: The federal government on Tuesday de-notified the management committee of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) headed by Najam Sethi, confirmed Federal Minister for Inter-provincial Coordination (IPC) Ehsan Ur Rehman Mazari. According to a notification issued by Ministry of Inter-provincial Coordination (IPC), the PCB management committee of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) led by Najam Sethi stood dissolve following the ‘completion of tenure’. Wheat quota suspended for flour mills

LAHORE: Punjab food department has suspended the wheat quota for flour mills and decided to auction the wheat under Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) rules, ARY News reported on Tuesday. Punjab food secretary Zaman Watto said that mill owners can also participate in the auction. He added that the provincial government is mulling to grant direct subsidies on flour. He said that the steps were taken to stop misappropriations in the wheat quota. The flour mills associations have not yet reacted to the Punjab government’s decision. LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Nadeem Afzal Chan said that Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) is responsible for spending Local Government (LG) funds in Punjab, ARY News reported.  Talking to ARY News show Khabar, the PPP leader said that the Local Government (LG) funds and the transfers and postings in Punjab are done on PML-N’s direction.  He said that it’s not right that in coalition government one part holds the powers. Everyone is a beneficiary of the bureaucracy except the PPP.
