‘PPP to move court if general elections delayed’

LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) will move court if the upcoming general elections are delayed, ARY News reported. Taking to ARY News programme Khabar, PPP leader Faisal Karim Kundi said that PPP does not accept the ECP decision regarding the schedule of delimitations and delay in general elections is not acceptable. He said that ECP will also be approached to carry out the delimitation process after elections as timely elections are PPP’s stance from day one. Faisal Kundi said that the number of constituencies increases after the delimitation and the ECP would need an amendment for an increase in the constituencies. Furthermore, PPP suggested the coalition parties to hold elections within 60 days after the dissolution of assemblies however they wanted election in 90 days. Pakistan-Germany health collaboration discussed

ISLAMABAD: German Ambassador to Pakistan Alfred Grannas called on Federal Secretary Health Iftikhar Ali Shallwani on Wednesday. The two side discussed in detail mutual collaboration between Pakistan and Germany in the health sector, the state news agency reported. The meeting reviewed the installation process of MRI machine at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) hospital Islamabad. It was assured by PIMS and German supplier Siemens that MRI machine in PIMS will start functioning from 6th September 2023. On this occasion, a representative of German Siemens company Zahid Ali was also present. Federal Secretary Health expressed his gratitude to the German Ambassador. 14-year-old commits suicide after mother scolded him for using phone

In a shocking incident that went viral, a 14-year-old boy committed suicide after his mother scolded him for excessive use of his phone. The incident happened in the Indian state of Telangana, where a 14-year-old boy named Sai Charan took his life after his mother scolded him for spending excessive time on his cell phone. Despite his mother’s advice to focus on his studies, Charan was unable to cope with the scolding and hanged himself in his house while alone. When the mother returned home she discovered the distressing scene, finding the door closed. With the help of neighbors, they broke down the door and found Charan’s lifeless body hanging from the ceiling. The local police were informed, and they promptly arrived at the scene, transferring the body to Jagtial Hospital for post-mortem and initiating an investigation. RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed two terrorists during an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) in the North Waziristan district, ARY News quoted ISPR on Tuesday. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement, “On night 14/15 August 2023, Security Forces conducted an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) on the reported presence of terrorists in Razmak area, North Waziristan District.” During the conduct of the operation, security forces surrounded the terrorists’ location and after an intense fire exchange, two terrorists were killed, the military’s media wing said. QUETTA: Ali Mardan Domki has been unanimously nominated as the Balochistan’s caretaker chief minister (CM), ARY News reported on Tuesday. After much deliberation, Ali Mardan Domki has been unanimously nominated as the Balochistan CM. The Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) has finally convinced Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) on Domki’s name. KARACHI: The International Transport Workers Federation (ITF) has expressed its concerns over the violations of the cabin crew rules by the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) administration which led to the death of a staff, Purser Rashda Majeed in a road accident, ARY News reported on Tuesday. KYIV: Two cities in western Ukraine were hit by air strikes overnight, local officials said early on Tuesday. Lviv mayor Andriy Sadovyi said “many missiles were shot down”, but that “residential buildings got hit” in the strike. “There is a fire on the upper floors. We are evacuating people. All services are on site,” he said on Telegram. Lviv has mostly been spared the daily bombardments that have hit other parts of Ukraine. But in July, 10 people were killed in what Sadovyi said was the biggest Russian missile attack on the city’s civilian infrastructure since the invasion.
