FBR launches crackdown on tax evaders

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) launched a nationwide crackdown on tax evasion and fraud, resulting in the arrest of five individuals. Speaking to ARY News, FBR Spokesman Bakhtiar Muhammad said that the Chief Financial Officer of a prominent battery manufacturer has been taken into custody for his alleged involvement in over Rs. 1 billion sales tax fraud. The Chief Financial Officer of a major textile unit in Faisalabad was also arrested for his alleged involvement in millions of rupees worth of sales tax evasion, the FBR spokesman added. Bakhtiar Muhammad said that the third suspect was arrested for allegedly evading billions of rupees of tax fraud. He said that suspects were arrested after bails were rejected by the court. Nintendo Switch 2 codename revealed in massive Pokémon leak

A latest leak regarding the new Pokemon’s Gen 10, a multiplayer game, has revealed the codename for the Nintendo Switch 2 gaming console. The leak, doing rounds on social media and gaming websites, has revealed that Nintendo Switch 2 is being referred to internally as “Ounce,” a name used in the past for Nintendo Switch. According to the leak, the Gen 10 Pokemon game is in development for the next Nintendo Switch. The leak targeted at Game Freak, the developer of Pokemon, has been confirmed by multiple Switch 2 and Pokemon-focused X accounts. Details about the developer’s upcoming games have also been leaked as it was reported that Gen 10, a multiplayer Pokemon game, is the source code for Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2. While reports had earlier suggested that Nintendo is reportedly looking to release Switch 2 in early 2025, fans are now expecting that the gaming console might be announced in October after its images and specs leaked online. The DIG South, Asad Raza, confirmed that departmental action is underway against the police officials responsible for the violent behavior with journalists, which has sparked outrage within the media community. ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced that it will hold ‘massive’ protests on October 15 at Islamabad’s D-Chowk, if the party is not allowed to meet party founder Imran Khan, ARY News reported. Speaking at ARY News programme Sawal Ye Hai , PTI Central Secretary Information Sheikh Waqas Akram set a condition for the government to withdraw from the announced protest. “Allow party founder Imran Khan’s meeting with his family and lawyers or face massive protests on October 15,” Sheikh Waqas Akram said. Baba Siddique: NCP leader shot dead in India

India’s Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddique was shot dead in Mumbai’s Bandra on Saturday, local media reported. Baba Siddique, famous for hosting Iftar dinners every year, sustained bullet injuries in his chest as three rounds were fired. He was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shindem also confirmed Baba Siddique’s death quoting the police. Baba Siddique was attacked by unidentified people outside his son’s office in Bandra and rushed to Lilavati Hospital. “Two to three rounds were fired. Further probe is underway as teams have rushed to the area,” a police official said. The investigating agencies are yet to confirm the actual reason behind the assassination. Nintendo sets mystery online test ahead of Switch 2 release

Nintendo is set to perform a mystery online playtest for a new feature ahead of the launching its hotly-anticipated of Switch 2. The Kyoto-based gaming company has revealed that the test will begin on October 23 and run through November 5, a gaming website reported. Those who have an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership will be able to sign up for the test, however, they will have to be at least 18 years of age. Those wishing to join the test must have their Nintendo accounts registered in Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, or Spain. Fans have since been speculating about the purpose of the Test and its relation to the upcoming Switch 2. Nintendo raised eyebrows after it asked players to keep the contents of the test secret.
