Pakistan’s revenue collection has seen a remarkable 15 percent boost in first four months of the current fiscal year compared to the same period last year, driven by enhanced tax administration and digitalisation initiatives that have broadened the tax base and improved compliance across sectors.

The government has not only met but surpassed its revenue collection targets by 10 percent for the first four months, reflecting effective fiscal policies, strategic tax reforms and targeted enforcement measures that have strengthened the country’s fiscal position.

The impressive revenue performance in the first four months highlights Pakistan’s commitment to economic stability and growth, supporting essential public services, infrastructure projects and debt reduction efforts, setting a positive trajectory for the remaining period of the financial year.

Transport Canada declares Pakistan’s aviation security satisfactory

KARACHI: In a major development, the security delegation from Transport Canada on Wednesday completed the security audit of Jinnah International Airport, ARY News reported. According to Airports Security Force (ASF), the team conducted thorough inspection of the security arrangements in place at the airport and found them satisfactory. During the audit, the ASF team comprising National Inspectors gave a briefing to the Transport Canada team. Woman throws eight-year-old child into Karachi’s nullah

KARACHI: A tragic incident was reported from Karachi’s old Golimar area near Eidgah Ground when an 8-year-old child was allegedly thrown into the sewerage drain by a woman believed to be mentally ill, ARY News reported on Tuesday. The local police claimed that the woman – believed to be mentally ill – picked up the child, who was playing nearby, and threw him into the sewerage drain and fleeing the scene. The father of the child immediately reported the incident to authorities, which led to initiate a rescue operation.
